Children's Classes, Classes
In this festive winter ceramics course, young artists will hand-build their own ornamental Christmas tree using the coiling technique with durable stoneware clay, fired to 1220°C for a lasting keepsake. Inspired by the German Christbaum tradition of handmade holiday decorations, students will explore the folk art of crafting personal ornaments — shaping tiny stars, hearts, snowflakes, and bells from clay to hang upon their trees. Through this detail-oriented project, they'll discover the art principle of pattern and repetition while developing patience, fine motor skills, and a deeper connection to the timeless tradition of creating meaningful decorations by hand. Each child will come away with a one-of-a-kind glazed ceramic tree to treasure for years to come — a true celebration of winter festivities and craftsmanship.
