Studio Etiquette
Welcome to Lantau Pottery Studio!
I'd like to take a moment to introduce you to our studio etiquette. These guidelines help us maintain a respectful and considerate environment that fosters creativity and learning for everyone.
Please take a moment to familiarize yourself with our policies, which cover topics such as safety, cleanliness, and respect for shared tools and materials.
1. Respect:
-
Treat the studio, equipment, and all members with care and respect.
-
Offer assistance to fellow members but refrain from giving unsolicited criticism.
-
Please do not touch or move any artwork that is not your own.

2. Cleanliness:
-
Maintain a clean workspace as you go and always wipe down surfaces with a clean, wrung-out cloth.

If you finish working in one area, please clean it thoroughly before moving to another.

-
Rinse out any used sponges and clothes and store them away clean.

3. Project Management:

Clearly label ALL your personal projects and greenware with your name and the date.

Apply a unique Maker's Mark or clearly write your name on your work to ensure easy identification and prevent accidental mix-ups

-
Wash and return all community tools to their designated places before leaving.

Before reclaiming clay from throwing buckets, please check for any tools that may have been left inside.
-
Clean glaze tools thoroughly between different glazes and after use to prevent contamination. Please be aware that glaze contamination may result in charges for materials and replacement time.
-
Use the designated studio clay sink for all clay and glaze-related washing. Please wash your hands before using the bathroom.
-
Familiarize yourself with fire extinguisher locations, first aid kits, and emergency exits.

9. Surveillance:
The studio is monitored by security cameras 24/7 for everyone's safety.
