Make a tiny clay fish with me
Saturday 24 October, 3 to 5 PM
Free to join. Drop in any time between 3PM and 5PM.
Come and shape a small ceramic fish. You don’t need any experience, and kids are welcome with a grown-up. Bring a friend. A fish is under 5 cm and takes 10 to 15 minutes, so make one or make several. Keep it plain and smooth, or give it a ridiculous face. Pinch a tail that only you would think of. There’s one rule: every fish faces right. I’ll bring the clay and tools and show you how if you’d like a hand. Wear something that can get a little messy, and pick up a coffee or a drink from the Beach House while you work.
What it’s for
I’m building a large vase for the satellite exhibition at Lantau Pottery Studio during the Inter-island Festival, 21 and 22 November. A school of small fish will swim around it, each one made by a different person from the community. Yours will be one of them.
